Podiatrist Poll for Top Comfort Dress Shoes...

Hello Intrepid Readers,

I am running an informal poll and would greatly appreciate any input from you!

What is your favorite/most comfortable/prettiest dress shoe ever? Basically, if you had to pick one pair of women's dress shoes that you had to wear for the rest of your life - what would it be?

FOR A SHOE TO BE GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOUR FEET, IT MUST MEET 4 CRITERIA:

1. A thick, rigid and non-flexible sole. This is the most important feature of the shoe! Any shoe that bends or flexes through the sole is setting you up for pain, inflammation, arthritic joint changes and increased risk of injury.
2. Wide, soft toebox. You can get Extra-Depth toebox shoes for more room in the forefoot area.
3. RearFoot Control. A shoe must have at least a strap in the back. No backless shoes!
4. Arch Support, which can be achieved with orthotics, OTC inserts or a heat-molded insert.

MOST FOOT PROBLEMS ARE CAUSED BY:

1. Genetics. Biomechanical foot types and foot issues can be genetic. So, look at Mama's feet and if you don't like what you see - get in better shoes and start taking care of your feet today!
2. Trauma.
3. Poor Shoegear. Wearing shoes that aren't good enough for your feet can cause fractures, sprains, bunions, hammertoes and even toenail fungus and ingrown toenails.
4. Underlying Systemic Disorder (Diabetes, Autoimmune Disease, ect)
5. Environmental. Smoking cigarettes, alcohol consumption and drugs can take a massive toll on your foot health.
