Podiatry Recommended Comfortable Sandal for Spring - Naot Relate

Naot Relate

Podiatry Recommended Comfortable Sandal for Spring

First, I'd like to appologize to anyone waiting on an answer through the comment section of the blog. For the last eight weeks, I've had a bit of vertigo and haven't been able to tolerate looking at the computer screen. I'm feeling much better and looking forward to catching up on the comments and questions!

The Naot Relate sandal is an excellent choice for Spring. It has a thick, rigid and non-flexible sole that limits motion through the foot joints, which allows for maximum comfort. Less motion through any areas of previous injury or joint damage means less inflammation, swelling and pain to that area. The Naot Relate also has a soft insole that molds to the shape of the foot and will be comfortable for anyone who has painful calluses. The forefoot, midfoot and rearfoot strapping allows for more biomechanical control, which also translates to increased comfort and less mechanical strain.

This sandal is recommended for:
*Bunions
*Hammertoes
*Functional Hallux Limitus (decreased motion through the 1st toe joint)
*Hallux Rigidus (no motion through the 1st toe joint)
*Tailor's Bunion
*Achilles Tendonitis (mild)
*Plantar Fasciitis (heel pain)
*Osteoarthritis
*Rheumatoid Arthritis
*Metatarsalgia
*Morton's Neuroma

This sandal is not recommended for:
*Charcot Foot
*Diabetics
*History of previous ulcerations
*Peripheral Arterial Disease
*Peripheral Neuropathy

Comfortable Women's Wedge Heels - Tusbo Stlye!

TSUBO

Two Comfortable Cool Women's Wedges...

 Tsubo Barto
$119 at 6pm.com

 Tsubo Sedna
$159 at zappos.com

I absolutely love Tsubo shoes!
Every pair I've owned has been a go-to shoe for comfort and style.

What's great about these two wedges are that they have a thick, rigid sole that is very protective of your foot joints.
More protection for your feet means
less wear-and-tear of the joints, which results in
more comfort and less chance of injury.
Not to mention prettier feet!
You are either beating up your feet or you are beating up the shoes...

The Barto shoe is superior because it has forefoot, midfoot and rearfoot control, which allows for more biomechanical control.
More biomechanical control of the foot and ankle means you get less mechanical strain, which allows for  less chance of injury and
superior comfort.

The Tsubo Sedna lacks midfoot control but has rearfoot and ankle control, which makes it an amazingly comfortable wedge sandal. The Sedna  is a particularly good shoe for anyone who has a large bump on the top of their foot (exostosis) and can't have any pressure on it.

Are you starting to develop bunions or hammertoes?
Are you concerned about stopping or slowing the progression of foot deformities such as bunions and hammertoes?

To do this, it is imperative that you only wear shoes with a thick rigid sole that has forefoot, midfoot and rearfoot control.

Excessive motion in the foot while wearing substandard shoegear (i.e. flexible!) encourages the deveopment of:

*Bunions
*Hammertoes
*Tailor's Bunions
*Morton's Neuromas
*Corns & Calluses
*Achilles Tendonitis
*Tendonitis
*Bone Spurs
*Osteoarthritis
*Joint Damage
*Stress Fractures
*Knee, Hip & Lower Back Pain

These Tsubo wedge sandals are a great option for women who want fashion, height and comfort while not wanting to cause their bunions or hammertoes to get worse!

These Shoes ARE Recommended for Patients with:
*Mild Hallux Limitus (limited range of motion of the 1st toe joint)
*Mild Bunions
*Mild Hammertoes
*Mild Achilles Tendonitis
*Mild Tendonitis
*Morton's Neuroma
*Mild Capsulitis of the Forefoot Joints
*Mild Osteoarthritis
*Mild Plantar Fasciitis (Heel Pain)
*Metatarsalgia
*Mild Plantar Plate Injuries
*Recovering from Lisfranc's Injury (i.e. Jone's Fracture)
*Mild Ankle Instability
*Mild Hypermobility

These Wedges Are NOT Recommended For Patients with:
*Charcot Foot
*Diabetics
*Diabetics with history of Ulcerations
*Peripheral Arterial Disease (Poor Circulation)
*Peripheral Neuropathy (Nerve Damage)
*Muscle Weakness
*Balance Issues
*The Elderly
*Severe Hallux Limitus or Hallux Limitus (No Range of Motion of the 1st Toe Joint)
*Severe Degenerative Joint Disease and limited range of motion of any of the forefoot structures

I hope this was helpful and I would love to hear any feedback on your experience with these shoes!

Comfortable Women's Sandal - Dansko Antoinette

Comfortable Women's Sandal

Dansko Antoinette

This is a great sandal! I am a big fan of Dansko shoes and it is my preferred footwear when I'm at work and know that I'm going to be on my feet all day. Several years ago, my husband and I took a trip to Hong Kong where we spent a week exploring the city and the shoes I chose to wear was an enclosed Dansko shoe with my custom-molded orthotics and I felt great.

This Dansko sandal has a thick rigid sole which is protective of the foot as well as forefoot, midfoot and rearfoot strapping for better biomechanical control of the foot and the ankle. As long as the Dansko shoe has rearfoot strapping/control, they are great shoes for wearing all day depending on your foot condition.

This Shoe is Recommended For Patients with:

*Mild Plantar Fasciitis
*Hallux Limitus (limited range of motion of the 1st toe joint)
*Mild to Moderate Osteoarthritis
*Mild Rheumatoid Arthritis
*Mild Tendonitis
*Mild Achilles Tendonitis
*Mild to Moderate Hammertoes
*Mild to Moderate Bunions and Tailor's Bunions
*Mild Hypermobility
*Mild Knee, Hip & Lower Back Pain
*Mild to Moderate Metatarsalgia
*Mild Morton's Neuroma
*Ingrown Toenails
*Mild Calluses

This Shoe is NOT Recommended For Patients with:

*Diabetes
*Peripheral Vascular Disease (Poor Circulation)
*Peripheral Neuropathy (Nerve Damage)
*Charcot Foot
*History of Ulcers or Open Sores
*Ankle Instability
*Severe Hypermobility
*The Elderly (since Dansko shoes tend to be a bit heavy)

This sandal can be found on 6pm.com for $75.
With a google search, you may be able to find it for a better price.

Have a great day!

Comfortable Women's Sandal - Abeo Miramar Neutral

The Abeo Miramar Neutral

This is a wonderfully comfortable women's sandal that can be found at The Walking Company.  What I particularly like about this sandal is the suede-lined footbed and the excellent arch support it offers. It has forefoot, midfoot and rearfoot strapping which helps with biomechanical control of the foot.

The forefoot strap may be a problem for some ladies with moderate to severe bunions. If the strap rubs right on the bunion it can cause pain, discomfort and even possibly cause the bunion to get larger. If you suffer with bunions, try on the sandal to make sure the straps don't rub across the bunion and, if there is any discomfort, don't get them.

These Sandals are Recommended to Patients with a history of:
*Mild Bunions (perhaps - depending on the patient)
*Mild to Moderate Hammertoes
*Mild Tailor's Bunions (perhaps - depending on the patient)
*Mild Tendonitis
*Plantar Fasciitis (Heel Pain)
*Mild Osteoarthritis
*Hallux Limitus (Limited Range of Motion across the 1st toe joint)
*Mild Capsulitis
*Mild Achilles Tendonitis
*Metatarsalgia
*Mild Morton's Neuroma

This Sandal is NOT Recommended for Patients with:
*Diabetes
*Peripheral Arterial Disease (poor circulation)
*Peripheral Neuropathy (Nerve damage)
*Charcot Foot
*History of Ulcers
*Hypermobility
*Ankle Instability
*Moderate to Severe Bunions or Tailor's Bunions

Cost: $129.95

Rating: I give this sandal an 8.5
(on a scale of zero to ten with ten being the best).

Have a wonderful weekend!
